Teacher Analyze
- You may want students to print out all of their information for analysis (or perhaps only a certain number of pages). Alternatively, they can use the following websites to annotate webpages directly.
- If students are not familiar with annotating their notes, or note-taking in general, you may want to review this with them. We have provided an annotation guide on the student Analyze page but feel free to use another you are more comfortable with.
- Model how to annotate notes, make connections, identify new information, etc. before students begin analyzing their information.
- Encourage students to make connections to prior knowledge on their topic, identify any new information they have learned, list any lingering questions they may still have, and form a conclusion once they have finished their research.
- You may also want to remind students to keep track of where they are finding the information, i.e. which websites they are using.
Questions to ask when circulating:
What do you think?
Why does it matter?
What are some of the big ideas here?
What does this remind you of?
What can you infer?
What makes you say that?
How did you come up with that?
What makes you think that?
